Wavelengths from 1050nm to 1650nm are available in the Metaphase Line Light (UL-LL) and Collimated Line Light (UL-CLL) Series. Short-wave infrared technology provides the necessary contrast to illuminate test objects that visible and ultraviolet light cannot provide.
The SWIR Line Light is the latest design in the Metaphase family of LED lights for line scan. Its narrow, structured beam delivers high intensity and concentrated light for the narrow field of view of a traditional line scan camera. The high intensity and uniformity allows the SWIR Line Light to be used as a front light , back light or oblique dark field light.

SWIR Imaging Examples
Inspection of Apples for Impact Damage Water absorbs SWIR light, causing the bruised region to appear dark, due to water collecting under the bruise. |
Inspection of Fluid Level The four fluids in the images to the right have differnt levels of absorption of SWIR light. In each case, detection of the fluid level is much easier under SWIR illumination, as compared to the visible spectrum. |
Inspection of Fluid Level (Laundry Detergent) The image to the right is a composite of a two images: one shot using VISIBLE illumination, and the other using SWIR illumination. The fluid level does has no effect on the image shot under visible-spectrum illumination. The SWIR image, however, shows the liquid as dark due to absorption of SWIR light. The resultant contrast enables image processing to easily and reliably check the level of the detergent in the container. |

DRIVER OPTIONS |
Metaphase offers many Driver options to customize our lights to any specific application. Most Drivers are available in both Built-In (BI) and In-Line (IL) configurations and include features for Intensity Control, Triggering, Strobing, compatibility with LED Controllers such as the ULC-2 and other third-party controllers; Keyence and Trinity. Other Drivers offered are unique for compatibility with Cognex and Baumer cameras. These options provide greater flexibility, control, and convenience when integrating Metaphase illumination systems. All drivers will not be compatible with every light of every size. |
