The Basler aviator family was a series of high speed CCD cameras with a Gigabit Ethernet or Camera Link interface and a very attractive price/performance ratio.  The aviator series featured  monochrome and color models with resolutions of 1, 2 (4:3 and HDTV), and 4 megapixels with progressive scan readout and global shutter technology.

The Series used Kodak Progressive-Scan CCD Image Sensors, which have been discontinued.

That’s the bad news… but the GOOD NEWS is that today’s CMOS sensor technology has surpassed CCD Image Sensors in both price and performance.
