new! BX2 xxyy Series
Edge-Illuminated Backlights

This second edition of the Advanced Illumination edge-lit backlight series is more than twice as bright as previous BX and CX models. As with most planar backlight designs, this product is useful for edge detection, part location & orientation identification, presence & absence, hole detection and object gauging.

The BX2 series of Edge-lit Backlights are characterized by their high brightness and low surface heat output. Since the LED’s are located along the edges of the backlight, the surface of the light runs cooler than that of a back-lit light. This makes the BX2 Series popular for biological applications, as a biological sample placed over the backlight is not subjected to the heat dissipation that a backlit backlight would produce.

The BX2 Series is available in the most common wavelengths, is available with an optional polarizer, and is available in expandable sizes up to 24” X 24” (610mm) in increments of 1” (25mm.)
